Maleficent Assignment, New Ways to Follow Me

I recently finished a project I'd given myself in a 'class' (I guess you could call it that).  Anyways, I was to re-design something which involved a character, a creature, and a prop of some sorts.  I decided to make things interesting and cross the evil queen from Snow White with Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.  The Cauldron doubles as the magic mirror.

In other news, Google Reader is going bye-bye on the 1st of July.  I'd been looking around for a replacement and discovered Feedly, which I've been test driving for the last couple of weeks. I really like it,  it functions a lot like Google Reader, and they are currently in the process of adding new features.  If you are looking for an alternative to Google Reader, I recommend it.

And, since I was in the mode of updating and expanding how folks might subscribe to my blog, I've added feeds to both NetworkedBlogs and Twitter.

Collector's Item

A year or two ago, I helped design the bonus game which shipped with the Poptropica Blimp toy.  I also created the artwork (seen above) included on the box art. I can't take credit for the little islands in the background, however.  That was done by another artist.

Below, you can get a peek at the different levels of the game.  I had a blast designing and creating it.
It was also fun to design the villain's airship.  I tried to make it everything the Poptropican blimp wasn't.

At the end, the player launches an all-out war against Dr. Cumulo's secret arctic base.  Although we had to slim it down a bit from my original pitch, the final battle was also something I designed.

I also created a special villain just for this game:   Dr. Cumulo Nimbus -with his special-action lightning storm hairdo!  I hope he's able to show up in some future island sometime.  He was a pretty good bad guy.

Here is a page of character designs for him.  His final design is in the lower right.
If you want to learn more about the Inflatable toy blimp, and the game I helped create, zip over to the toy page at poptropica.com and check it out!
