More 1 Hour Studies

Second verse, same as the first . . .
But this time I created a very noisy chalk-like brush to do two of them. The idea was to create a way to prevent myself from 'skrubbing in' a color. I wanted to work on being able to see a color, and then lay it down in paint. Sha-bam! -None of this 'sneak up on it' 'airbrushy' 'semi-transparent' malarkey.

1 Hour Landscape Studies

I found it easiest to do these when both the reference and study are about 1/6th the size of the computer screen I'm working on. I also use a messy brush and don't zoom into the painting. I try to keep everything on one layer too.
I spent no more than an hour on each.

Finding Mr. Ripe: Timelapse

Until Youtube changes their format to accommodate vertical paintings, you'll have to tilt your head (or your laptop) to view this one. Sorry for the kink in your neck. :)

It's a real shame they only have horizontal video options. Tall paintings really get the shaft.

Take that Youtube! My painting is sideways!
